The Benefits of Positive Thinking

By Positive & Inspiring, Self Improvement No Comments

Positive Thinking

The benefits of a positive mindset are many. Studies show that people who adopt a positive mindset experience better health, lower levels of stress, and improved overall psychological well-being. According to the Mayo Clinic, positive thinking may improve cardiovascular health, reduce the incidence of depression, and increase the body’s resistance to colds. It may even improve the immune system, increase a person’s resistance to the common cold, and help build coping skills.

Positive thinking is a skill that can be learned

When we are under stress, our minds tend to dwell in negative thoughts. While this is perfectly normal, it can have a negative effect on our health, relationships, and even our self-esteem. Learning to think positively is a skill that you can develop. However, it’s important to remember that it can be counterproductive if you let your mind develop a disaster scenario. Rather than telling yourself your life is perfect, try to recognize that some things have gone wrong. Putting negative events into context helps you learn how to think positively and avoid developing a disaster scenario.

It is a habit

In today’s fast-paced society, we all need to develop positive thinking skills, so we can enjoy the little victories and move on to the big ones. Positive thinking is a habit that is borne from two inner resources: a positive attitude, and a basic trust in oneself and a higher power. Positive emotions are contagious, so when we feel good about ourselves, we tend to think good about others.

It is contagious

If you’re in a foul mood, think about what your boss would tell you. He or she would tell you to stay home. Or, if you’re strained and achy, he or she would tell you to get healthy, change your attitude, and be positively contagious. This attitude is contagious and can spread through an organization, motivating people to act positively. So how can you spread positive thinking?

It increases chances of meeting success

The NCBI found that having a positive mindset can increase meeting success by reducing conflict and improving teamwork. For example, when people are viewed with positive thinking, it is easier to trust others. This is because people who are always smiling and engaged with other people are more likely to trust other people, thus creating a more cooperative team. NCBI suggested using a method called mindful meditation. This practice teaches you how to remain calm in stressful situations and to see obstacles as opportunities rather than threats.

It reduces illness

Research has shown that positive thinking can lead to healthier habits and improve physical and emotional health. Those who are positive tend to cope better with stressful situations and may be less likely to indulge in unhealthy behavior. They may also be more resilient, a quality which is associated with increased lifespan and decreased risk of disease. Here are some positive thinking strategies to improve your overall well-being. Positive thinking can reduce your chances of contracting illnesses, increase your resilience, and decrease your overall stress levels.

What Is the Difference Between Wealth and Abundance?

By Faith, Positive & Inspiring, Self Improvement No Comments

You may be wondering what the difference is between wealth and abundance. You may even be thinking that you are already wealthy and don’t need to change anything.

The answer is simple: wealth is a lack of abundance.

When you are not experiencing abundance, it is because you have something that you do not want or need. It can be anything from a bad habit to an emotional issue.

When you have a bad habit, for example, you know it is bad because you don’t like doing it. So, you have to change it.

If you don’t like doing it, you are not going to do it very often. If you do it too much, you will get tired of it and stop doing it. This is a natural consequence of your desire to get rid of something you don’t want.

Your desire to get rid of something causes you to take action. The action leads to a result that is either a good or a bad thing. The good thing is that you are now free from the bad habit. The bad thing is that you have created more of the same problem in another area of your life.

For example, let’s say you want to lose weight. When you eat junk food, you feel guilty, so you go on a diet. The diet doesn’t work, so you gain back all the weight you lost. Now you have a new bad habit to deal with.

In order to be free from the bad habit of eating junk food, you must eliminate it completely. This means that you must never again eat any food that is considered junk food. You must not think about it, and you must not look at it.

To achieve this goal, you must replace junk food with healthy foods. Healthy foods are foods that you love, such as fruits and vegetables.

You can see how easy it would be to create more problems by trying to change things in your life.

Abundance is different. Abundance is when you have everything you need to live a full, happy life.

When you are experiencing abundance, there is no reason to make changes. You are living a full, happy life, and you are happy with yourself.

Abundance does not mean that you will always be happy. In fact, you may experience pain and loss at times. However, you will never experience those negative feelings because you have the resources to overcome them.

So, if you want to experience abundance, you must first decide that you want it. Then you must focus on creating it.

There is nothing wrong with wanting abundance, but you cannot expect it to just appear. You must take action to create it.

Positive and Inspiring Strength in 2019

By Faith, Positive & Inspiring No Comments

Happy New Year! It’s a brand-new year. It’s the time of year when many people start to think about making changes. This year, rather than writing a quick list of resolutions that I’ll likely forget before next month, I’m taking a different approach. This is a good time for me to ask myself, what do I want to be different this year?

While I dwell on my approach, I should mention that I am not even supposed to be alive in 2019. In fact, I came close to dying many times.  I now meet every new year and every day with a deep sense of gratitude. My faith and praises to God grow even more every day but sometimes it is still very challenging.

Before my first open-heart surgery at fifteen years old, I’ve always been a high-energy person. My mother often said, “Francis, slow down, where do you get all this energy?” — not in admiration, but in frustrated exhaustion. For me, that energy ties with the enthusiasm to survive.

But in 1999, everything changed. I was diagnosed with a leaking heart valve and chronic heart failure and immediately experienced a decline in my energy and enthusiasm. What I remember most was the weakness and profound fatigue inflicted on my body. No matter how much I slept, by 9:00 a.m. I wanted to go back to bed. I went from being a high-energy guy who never stopped, to being constantly fatigued, confused, and yes, frightened by this weakened state in which I found myself.

Never before had I understood what it felt like to be weak?

The next year, I experienced a miracle when I had my first open-heart surgery in Denver. Shortly, after arriving at the hospital I went into cardiac arrest and almost didn’t make it. Through faith in God, prayers and the abilities of the medical professionals, the surgery was a success.

In high school, I was a member of the environmental club, I went hiking, camped in the rainforest, participated in protests and wrote provoking articles against the government in the national media. I was a member of the student government in college, carried a full class load, and later taught adult education courses at an alternative high school, worked at an NGO and local radio station promoting conservation and environmental awareness. I started my own company in 2005 that took on many important clients all over the world. I’ve sat at tables with world leaders, ambassadors, celebrities, athletes and politicians.

Years later, I would have a second open-heart surgery at 28 years old and a colon resection surgery in my thirties due to diverticulitis and cancer. These were both life-affecting experiences that deepened my faith in God and His purposes for me. I became a high-energy person again but now, more recently, my heart began to fail once more since July 2018. This continues to affect me daily until a new procedure to once again fix the problem happens later this month.

So now once again, I find myself being constantly in pain, fatigued, confused, and yes, frightened by this weakened state.

I knew God was the One who had strengthened me in my recovery from all my health issues and past experiences. He was the source of my strength. He was the strength of my life. This is the truth of Scripture. Our God is an awesome God — a God of ultimate strength. The great truth is this: You don’t have to beg God for strength, and you don’t have to look for strength. God is looking to give His strength to those who need it and will receive it! I want to receive it.

The devil and his forces of darkness may have tried to take me out in 2018 and the past years but he won’t succeed in 2019.

So New Year’s Day is the perfect day to forget what lies behind and strain forward to what is ahead pressing on toward the goal in God’s strength. He will empower me. He will give me the strength that I need for this beautiful, hopeful, promise-filled, fresh new year!

I read in the Bible that “God has made everything beautiful for its own time. He has planted eternity in the human heart.” – Ecclesiastes 3:11 NLT

I believe that the thing I am made for is the renewal of all things.

If you will listen with kindness and compassion to your own soul too, you will hear the echoes of hope so precious you can barely put words to it, a wild hope you can hardly bear to embrace. God put it there. So for this new year, I am proclaiming my faith in Jesus to restore my strength and hope. I want Him to renew my hope that He is going to renew all things, including my life. This includes prosperity, longevity, forgiveness, love, peace, joy, redemption and restoration.
